On Friday, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) unveiled several plans to overhaul the educational system in its schools by the year 2047. As part of the federal government's Vision@2047 project, the civic organization is concentrating on modernizing all its schools' facilities and instructional methods.

Officials have stated that further steps would encourage students to speak their native tongue, convert double-shift schools to single-shift ones, implement the "no school bag policy," and assign a music instructor and an arts and crafts teacher to each school.

The civic organization will concentrate on teaching the pupils about gender equality starting in early life. According to an official, MCD plans to convert double-shift schools to single-shift ones with this goal in mind so that boys and girls may interact from an early age, which is essential for instilling the appropriate qualities like respecting the opposing gender.

Students will receive two sets of books—one for school and another for home—as part of the "no school bag policy" to relieve them of carrying large baggage.

Co-curricular activities will be encouraged for the kids' overall development. In addition to providing music and art instructors for every school, special hours will be set aside to integrate and expand such activities.

As part of the infrastructure upgrade, the necessary number of RO systems and water coolers will be installed in each school to offer the necessary facilities for students and staff to have access to clean, safe drinking water. Every school will have a multipurpose room constructed by the education department with all the tools required to improve pupils' diverse talents. An MCD official added that classroom renovations would also consider the kids' demands.

Each school will have at least one guard to provide a safer atmosphere. CCTV cameras with internet access will be installed following the need to monitor a school's grounds online.

The education department intends to launch a campaign to instruct students and school workers on risk management safety tools and techniques.

MCD is attempting to digitize the educational system. The civic schools will have a solid technical foundation, and students will have access to the greatest teachers, individualized learning materials in their native tongues, and classrooms.

The local government is converting all of its schools into "smart schools," which will have computers, internet access, projectors, and audio systems to deliver instruction through audio-visual methods.

Teachers will receive laptops and iPads to store student data, virtual teaching-learning resources, and teaching aids. In the next years, school campuses will become free Wi-Fi zones, according to an MCD official.
